Over the life of the HIV & HCV Education Project of the School of Medicine, funding has primarily been received from separate, discreet, time-limited grants from Queensland Health. These grants have covered wages, course development costs and operating costs. At present approximately 70% of the activities of the unit are covered through this mechanism.
Other activities of HIV & HCV Education Project are funded by organisations seeking to purchase the services and expertise of the unit in the areas of clinical education, facilitation, monitoring & evaluation and resourcing. Enquiries are welcome about enlisting the services of BBVEP on a 'fee for service' basis. Current charges are calculated on cost (including wage component) of staging the education activity and includes a 15% School of Medicine administration support fee.
