The HIV/AIDS Education Domain has been operating since January 1998 and over this time has developed a reputation for offering comprehensive, evidence based, up-to-date education activities for medical practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals and community workers.
Three core courses are offered as part of the Domain
- Education Course in HIV Medicine which is open to any person interested in HIV medicine and is conducted over a two day period
- HIV Nursing Practice Course which is open to registered nurses working in HIV medicine and is conducted over a two day period
- Prescribers’ Course in HIV Medicine which is open to medical practitioners and is conducted over a two day period. This course contains items of assessment to enable medical practitioners to prescribe HIV antiretroviral therapies in Queensland
In addition we can design Customised Education Activities to suit your individual needs
The program is overseen by a Management Committee that regularly reviews content and skill development based in the courses and provide a cross discipline approach to the development of course material.
Method of delivery is, as much as is possible, case based within a problem based learning format.
