Exercise:
Good ways to exercise are:



The more you exercise the more glucose you use up.
Try and exercise for at least 30 minutes a day.
If that is too long you could do household jobs for 15 minutes. Later in the day go for a 15 minute walk.
If you do this everyday you help look after your diabetes.
Remember to:
Wear comfortable shoes
Take some water and have a drink when you are thirsty
Stop exercising if you feel tired or unwell and tell someone
Take your Hypo Kit
Wear some form of diabetes identification, especially if you are on diabetes medication or taking insulin
Talk to your doctor about when you need to test your blood glucose levels and what food to eat when exercising.
