The University of Queensland Rural Clinical School (RCS) was established on 1 January, 2002. It is part of the national rural education and training network funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Health and Ageing.
The RCS is committed to building a medical workforce for rural Australia, and thus enhancing the sustainability and viability of rural health care services.
RCS staff, students and facilities are based at a number of locations throughout Central and South West Queensland, providing a range of opportunities for medical education, training and research.
Bundaberg - Hervey Bay - Rockhampton - Toowoomba
This involves working closely with the region’s health care services and other interest groups, including Qld Health Service Districts, private hospitals, Divisions of General Practice, local GPs, and specialist consultants. As well, the RCS is very proud to have the support of our local communities, members of which provide significant social and personal support to our students and staff. We believe we provide a quite distinctive medical education experience, as well as the opportunity to embrace a rewarding lifestyle.
